Chicago and Namur headline upcoming festival round for The Legend of Sarila

Carpe Diem Film & TV and 10th Ave Productions are happy to announce that their animated 3D feature film The Legend of Sarila will be in competition at the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival in both its French and English versions, and have its European French language pre-release at the Namur Francophone Film Festival in Belgium. The Legend of Sarila will also be in competition this fall at the Calgary International Film Festival, the Gijón International Film Festival and Cinemagic Youth Film Festival in Belfast. In addition, it will be featured at the Rimouski Youth Film Festival, Take One Action Film Festival in the UK and Schlingel Film Festival in Germany.

The Legend of Sarila has already been seen at film festivals in Shangai, Annecy, Berlin, Zlin, Lisbon, Toronto and Montreal.

Directed by Nancy Florence Savard and produced by Marie-Claude Beauchamp, Normand Thauvette, Paul Risacher of Carpe Diem Film & TV and Nancy Florence Savard of 10th Ave Productions, The Legend of Sarila is a coming of age tale in which three young Inuit travel in search of a promised land to save their clan from starvation. It is also the story of a fight to the finish between two shamans, the young Markussi and the aging Croolik who feels his power is threatened.

The Legend of Sarila features the voice talents of Christopher Plummer (Croolik), Dustin Milligan (in the role of the young shaman Markussi), Rachelle Lefevre (Apik), Tim Rozon (as the chief’s son Poutulik), Natar Unqalaq (Ukpik), the singer Elisapie Isaac (Sedna) and Geneviève Bujold (Saya).
