Quebec City, April 24, 2025 – Yesterday at the Quebec Garrison Club, an Evening of Gratitude was held – a cocktail reception marking years of outstanding collaboration from five members of the animation team at 10^th Ave, a film and television production company in the Quebec City region.

On this occasion, 10^th Ave founder Nancy Florence Savard paid homage to Philippe Areseneau Bussières for his 25 years of valued collaboration on many of the company’s productions, including 10^th Ave’s very first production: the collectionHoliday Tales, the first 3D animated Christmas specials in Quebec, which aired on Télé-Québec from 2002. In addition to 3 tales of the collection Holiday Tales, Philippe Areseneau Bussières was art director on The Legend of Sarila, the first 100% Canadian 3D animated feature film, which was released in 2013. After that came Mission Kathmandu: The Adventures of Nelly & Simon; Felix and the Treasure of  Morgäa; Katak, the Brave Beluga; and the upcoming Lydia and the Mist Rider.

Another team member honoured at the Evening of Gratitude, Ginette Poulin, executive producer and head of administration at 10^th Ave, also received a commemorative coin marking her 15 years of contributions to the group. “Ginette arrived in Quebec City at just the right time, as we were working on our first major project. With her solid experience, she helped us to structure the firm soundly, so that it could grow and take flight. Today, as we complete production on our sixth animated feature, we can say, Mission accomplished, Ginette,” happily proclaimed the producer and director at 10^th Ave, Nancy Florence Savard.

It was on the recommendation of animation director Yann Tremblay, supported by studio executive producer Jean-François Tremblay, that 10^th Ave Animation came into being in October 2018. After The Rooster of St. Victor and Mission Kathmandu: The Adventures of Nelly & Simon, which were produced with help from a service company, 10^th Ave set up its own premises on the Grande-Allée in Quebec City. 

Joining these two long-time animation collaborators, Yann Tremblay and Jean-François Tremblay, is Chantale Boudreau, head of texturing. These three teammates have been working on 10^th Ave’s productions for over ten years now.

“In 2018, they were the catalysts for the establishment of the 10^th Ave Animation studio. Their pride in working on Quebec-made animated films with all the associated challenges, their commitment, their devotion and their willingness to go the extra mile have given us wings and enabled us to produce films that have journeyed to 170 countries and territories across the world.

Since there are few events to recognize work on animated features in Quebec, this Evening of Gratitude was a way of celebrating the significant contribution of these five valued collaborators to our industry,” the producer concluded.
