Lydia and the Mist Rider in competition at the Quebec Family Film Festival (FCEQ)

Quebec, March 2, 2026 – After its premiere in Quebec last February 8 and its metropolitan premiere on February 19 as the opening film of the Montreal International Children’s Film Festival (FIFEM), the sixth animated feature film by 10e Ave Productions, Lydia and the Mist Rider is among the five films in competition at the Quebec Family Film Festival, which begins today.
On this occasion, the distribution company Maison 4:3 invites families to attend special opening activities Monday, March 2 starting at 1 PM at the Le Clap cinema in Loretteville just before the screening of Lydia and the Mist Rider.
This 80-minute film from the Capital National’s film production company 10th Ave Productions tells the fantastic story of Lydia, who boards the flying sailboat, the Dolphin, to find missing children with the help of the astromagician Ambrosia. A production that combines adventure, magic, and mystery.
A royal cast of performers who lend their voices to the characters including Sophie Nélisse (the daring Lydia) Anthony Kavanagh (the loving captain Chadio) Lynz Dantiste (the entertaining Lucas) Eveline Gélinas (the moving Ambrosia) Alexandre Bacon (the intriguing enchanter) Dorothée Berryman (Grandmother Esther) and Guy Nadon (wise elder Kidjano).
The sound design by Jérôme Boiteau impresses with its creativity and the music by Jean-François Racine gives the film an extra dimension in addition to the catchy sea shanties by Sean Dagher.
Lydia and the Mist Rider is a script by Émilie Rosas, a free adaptation of the books by Yves Meynard Le Vaisseau des tempêtes and Le Prince des Glaces published by Médiapaul Editions. The direction is by Émilie Rosas, Nancy Florence Savard, and Philippe Arseneau Bussières. The latter also signs the artistic direction. Ginette Poulin oversees executive production and Nancy Florence Savard, the film’s production.
The fifteenth edition of the Quebec Family Film Festival takes place from March 2 to 6 in Le Clap cinemas, and the public will be invited to vote, as will a designated youth jury.
10th Ave Productions is the film company in the National Capital region of Quebec behind the animated hits: Katak, the Brave Beluga; Felix and the Treasure of Morgäa; Nelly and Simon: Mission Katmandu; The Rooster of St-Victor and The Legend of Sarila. Its distribution in Canada is handled by Maison 4:3.
