{"id":2494,"date":"2003-12-11T10:31:11","date_gmt":"2003-12-11T15:31:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/10ave.com\/2003\/12\/the-christmas-stocking-tale-second-3d-animation-movie\/"},"modified":"2018-10-29T23:14:22","modified_gmt":"2018-10-30T04:14:22","slug":"the-christmas-stocking-tale-second-3d-animation-movie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/10ave.com\/en\/2003\/12\/the-christmas-stocking-tale-second-3d-animation-movie\/","title":{"rendered":"The Christmas stocking tale, second 3D animation movie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>10th Ave Productions<\/strong>\u00a0presents its second 3D animation movie,\u00a0<em>The Christmas stocking tale<\/em>, along with four related multimedia games.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat I hope to do with our films is to make the whole world believe that all Christmas traditions originated in Quebec City,\u201d says producer-director Nancy Savard with a smile. \u201cAnd we hope that our games will help children, during the holiday period, to have fun and develop some of the skills they will need in school.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The Christmas stocking tale<\/em>\u00a0tells how the tradition of the Christmas stocking began in the Old Town of Quebec City in 1870, when two mice, Kit and Tuff, had only Christmas Eve to find the ingredients they needed to cure their brother Stiff, who was seriously ill. With the help of the three orphans whom Mrs. Holts had taken in for this memorable night, they managed to avoid the terrible traps set by her son Georges and his cat, Mats. In the confusion was born the tradition of the Christmas stocking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur teams have made remarkable progress between our first film,\u00a0<em>La l\u00e9gende du sapin de No\u00ebl<\/em>, and this one,\u201d notes Savard. \u201cI\u2019m particularly proud of the improved fluidity of the animation, the aesthetics of our characters, and the pace of our story. Children love the songs, and the sound environment is a match for that produced by the major studios. What\u2019s really great is to be able to take advantage of this primary product and transform it into a world of multimedia games for kids. Since we are interested in the educational side of things, we used the guidelines of the Quebec ministry of education to design our games. We have almost completed production on the ones associated with our first movie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Because it wanted distribution that stands out from other animation products for L\u2019histoire du bas de No\u00ebl,\u00a0<strong>10th Ave<\/strong>called upon Paul Doucet, Doroth\u00e9e Berryman, Paul Buissonneau, Edgar Fruitier, Carol Cassistat, Beno\u00eet Langlais, St\u00e9phane Cr\u00eate, Fanny Lauzier, and Marc B\u00e9langer. The songs are performed by the singers of La Petite ma\u00eetrise de Qu\u00e9bec and by Martin L\u00e9on and Sarah Martel. \u201cBecause the characters sang this time,\u201d Savard emphasizes, \u201cthe degree of difficulty posed a greater challenge, which the Interstation animation team met brilliantly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cT\u00e9l\u00e9-Qu\u00e9bec is contributing to our development and is a very valuable partner in the regions,\u201d Savard mentions. \u201cWe want to offer T\u00e9l\u00e9-Qu\u00e9bec a unique product tailor-made for the extraordinary programming opportunity that Cin\u00e9-Cadeau provides.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last year,\u00a0<em>The legend of the Christmas tree<\/em>,\u00a0<strong>10th Ave<\/strong>\u2019s first film, was positioned among the stars of T\u00e9l\u00e9-Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s most-watched programs during the holiday season. The movie was also broadcast in Japan and Spain during Christmas this year.<\/p>\n<p>We hope that\u00a0<em>The Christmas stocking tale<\/em>\u00a0will have the same success. It will be distributed by Pierre Pilotte of Vivamondo.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Christmas stocking tale<\/em>\u00a0could not have been made without the support of T\u00e9l\u00e9-Qu\u00e9bec, Telefilm Canada\u2019s Canadian Television Fund, the Shaw Fund, and SODEC. The games have received financial support from the Bell Fund and Investissement Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n<p><strong>10th Ave Productions<\/strong>\u00a0is a production house based in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, a suburb of Quebec City.
