This fantasy film, the sixth production from <strong>10<sup>th<\/sup> Ave<\/strong>, will be appearing on Canadian screens as of <strong>February 20, 2026<\/strong>, just in time for spring break.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Produced from \u00c9milie Rosas\u2019s first feature-length screenplay, <strong><em>Lydia and the Mist Rider<\/em><\/strong> is a 3D animated feature in the fantasy genre. It has three directors: \u00c9milie Rosas and Philippe Arseneau Bussi\u00e8res, for both of whom this is the first full-length directing credit, as well as experienced feature director Nancy Florence Savard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c10<sup>th<\/sup> Ave\u2019s animated features have always been released theatrically during spring break, and the tradition continues with our sixth 100% Canadian production. From <em>The Legend of Sarila<\/em>, which came out in 2013, to <em>Katak the Brave Beluga<\/em>, launched in 2023, spring break has been the moment of choice to offer our animated works to families in our home market,\u201d notes 10<sup>th<\/sup> Ave\u2019s producer and director, Nancy Florence Savard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The whole Maison 4:3 team is thrilled to be starting promotion on 10th Ave&#8217;s next animated feature, <strong><em>Lydia and the Mist Rider<\/em><\/strong>. This continues the wonderful collaboration with Nancy Florence Savard and her talented creative teams. We share their values, and we&#8217;re delighted to be offering young audiences a high-quality film that is entertaining and inspiring,&#8221; notes Chantale&#8217;s Page, head of the distribution company Maison 4:3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s so much emotion in seeing this mad dream come true! This film, born from a spark nearly 10 years ago, has come to life thanks to the talent and passion of all our teams. I\u2019m infinitely proud and deeply grateful,\u201d exclaims screenwriter and director \u00c9milie Rosas. \u201cThanks to a fabulous crew, we\u2019ve been able to steer the ship to its destination,\u201d adds director and art director Philippe Arseneau Bussi\u00e8res.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<strong><em>Lydia and the Mist Rider<\/em><\/strong> is the most audacious film produced to date by 10<sup>th<\/sup> Ave\u2019s teams. And it was made with joy. \u00c9milie and Philippe are hugely talented and committed, and they\u2019re also very agreeable companions, which is important when you\u2019re working together for over a hundred intense weeks,\u201d concludes 10<sup>th<\/sup> Ave\u2019s producer and director, Nancy Florence Savard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outline of the film<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Lydia and the Mist Rider <\/em><\/strong>(French title:<strong><em> Lydia et le vaisseau des temp\u00eates<\/em><\/strong>) transports us to a completely fantastic world. When her older brother Thaddeus is mysteriously abducted by the Spellbinder, 11-year-old Lydia sets out to find him in the Misty Sea. Picked up by the crew of an airborne sailing ship called the Dolphin, Lydia is apprenticed to Ambrosia, an astromagician. Ambrosia is searching for other children who have disappeared, including her own son. Determined to solve the mystery, Lydia will need to learn astromagic, and she\u2019ll need to learn to trust herself. With heart and spirit, she will have to confront the Spellbinder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The screenplay by \u00c9milie Rosas is freely adapted from two novels by Yves Meynard: <em>Le vaisseau des temp\u00eates <\/em>(<em>The Storm Vessel<\/em>) and <em>Le prince des glaces <\/em>(<em>The Ice Prince<\/em>), published by \u00c9ditions M\u00e9diaspaul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The production of this sixth animated feature film by 10<sup>th<\/sup> Ave was made possible thanks to the support of Telefilm Canada, SODEC, The Canada Media Fund, the City of Qu\u00e9bec, the Shaw Rocket Fund, Bell Media\/Crave, the Radio-Canada Corporation, the Harold Greenberg Fund and Investment Qu\u00e9bec, as well as the Quebec and Canadian tax credit programs. The film is distributed by Maison 4:3 in Canada.
