This year\u2019s market was crowded with major American animated feature projects. It takes great skill to sell intellectual property (IP) from independent studios,\u201d notes 10<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;Ave producer Nancy Florence Savard. Several international distributors, loyal to 10<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;Ave and Attraction, showed boldness in&nbsp;acquiring&nbsp;the rights to this fantasy film written by&nbsp;\u00c9milie Rosas&nbsp;and directed by a trio composed of&nbsp;producer Nancy Florence Savard,&nbsp;\u00c9milie Rosas&nbsp;and&nbsp;Philippe Arseneau&nbsp;Bussi\u00e8res,&nbsp;who also served as art director.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In development since 2016, this ambitious animated&nbsp;feature&nbsp;required&nbsp;more than 28 months of&nbsp;hard work&nbsp;before the finished product was ready.&nbsp;It\u2019s&nbsp;the most audacious project produced&nbsp;so far&nbsp;at the facilities of 10<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;Ave Animation, a boutique studio led by executive producer&nbsp;Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Tremblay&nbsp;and animation director&nbsp;Yann Tremblay.&nbsp;\u201cThe studio is&nbsp;steadily&nbsp;gaining experience after producing three films in-house.&nbsp;The arrival of supervising colleagues like&nbsp;Rafa\u00ebl Doray&nbsp;and&nbsp;Alexandre Melan\u00e7on&nbsp;has&nbsp;consolidated&nbsp;the technical team,&nbsp;joining&nbsp;artists&nbsp;like Chantale Boudreau, our head of textures, and Charles Bernadet on rigging,\u201d remarks&nbsp;Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Tremblay.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The French-language version of the film,&nbsp;<strong><em>Lydia et le&nbsp;vaisseau&nbsp;des&nbsp;temp\u00eates<\/em><\/strong>, features the vocal talents of prominent Quebec performers like&nbsp;Sophie&nbsp;N\u00e9lisse&nbsp;(Lydia), Anthony Kavanagh&nbsp;(Chadio),&nbsp;Lyndz&nbsp;Dantiste&nbsp;(Lucas), Eveline&nbsp;G\u00e9linas&nbsp;(Ambrosia), Doroth\u00e9e Berryman&nbsp;(Granny&nbsp;Esther),&nbsp;Maxime Desjardins (Thaddeus),&nbsp;Guy Nadon&nbsp;(Kidjano), Alexandre Bacon&nbsp;(Ma\u00ebl&nbsp;the Spellbinder),&nbsp;Gildor&nbsp;Roy (Cheese Seller), Kevin Houle (Sailor,&nbsp;Astromancer), Philom\u00e8ne Bilodeau&nbsp;(Sailor,&nbsp;Astromancer), Louis-Philippe Berthiaume&nbsp;(Sailor,&nbsp;Astromancer)&nbsp;and&nbsp;Justine Bouchard (Sailor, Child).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;Ave&nbsp;Productions\u2019 sixth animated feature,&nbsp;<strong><em>Lydia and the Mist Rider<\/em><\/strong>, opens in more than fifty Quebec cinemas on February 20. Maison 4:3&nbsp;is handling&nbsp;domestic&nbsp;distribution.
